In Talisman, players choose a character, each with unique abilities and stats, and embark on a quest to be the first to reach the Crown of Command located in the center of the board. The board is divided into three regions – Outer, Middle, and Inner – each presenting increasing challenges. Players move by rolling a die and interacting with the spaces they land on, which can involve drawing cards that introduce events, encounters, places, treasures, or monsters. Combat is resolved by rolling a die, adding the result to a character's strength or craft, and comparing the total to the opponent's roll, with victories awarding trophies that can be traded to improve character stats.
